The July 12th, 2019 Kanawha Amateur Radio Club (KARC) meeting was held at the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority
(KCEAA), 601 Brooks St., Charleston, WV, 25301.
Social Time - 6:00 – 6:30 PM: KARC members and guest gathered for amateur and other information sharing.

PROGRAM: 2019 Field Day (FD) CRITIQUE: Russ, KE8DMB, opened asking for comments from those attending as noted below:

  • Education to members for use of Digital Station/7000 Transceiver; Education on how to change operators/transceiver set-up;
    50 ft Power cords with three (3) end connector; Confirm Picnic time for food/time to eat; Dipole not completed until late Friday eve;
    No CW issues; No phone issues; Rotor went out before end of event; QSL Cards- two (2) sent
  • Thanked Clay, N8LW, for dolly for beam transporting
  • Friday set-up good attendance – Sunday take down – where were the members?
  • U-Haul Truck – confirm process/time
  • Tower mid-section needs guide wires
  • Review process for antennas in trees – safety with arrows – use of crossbow
  • Missing Power Supply for CW station
  • Trailer provided space and appreciated, however, need to construct a two (2) step for entry to trailer
  • Bandpass filters – not used

FD SCORE – Initial count – CW 778; Digital 10; Phone 556; Bonus 400; ? Solar = 5,764

  • Thanks to all members for attending, operating and supporting the 2019 Field Day event.

MEMBERSHIP Meeting : The membership meeting was called to order President, Terry Sanner, WV8V,Fred Vickers, WV8FV,
followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and introduction of those attending.

Announcements    

   ** WVSARC: ARRL WV State Convention planning meeting at Shoney’s, Flatwood, WV, 1:00 PM - all WV amateur is a members.

Minutes: Ann, KA8ZGY, distributed minutes of June 7th, 2019 KARC membership meeting. Minutes were reviewed and accepted.
Treasurers Report: Tracy, KC8VMG, reporting for Jennifer, KE8JXD, reports City National checking balance of $1,912.63
(Membership $584.38 and Trailer $1,328.25). Treasury report was accepted.

Communication Trailer (NEW): Terry, Wv8V, reported when title cleared will need committee to define layout for operating at events.
No further action at this time.

KARC Equipment – Storage: Terry, WV8Vn was notified on about June 24th, 2019 by Joe, WV8WVU, that he would no longer be
allowed to store the equipment and must be moved before June 30th, 2019. An executive decision was made to find a climate
control storage area for temporary use, and a Capitol Mini Storage, South Charleston, unit/locker was rented at the cost of $40.00 per month.
Joe, Terry and Fred, WV8FD, transferred all the equipment to the Mini Storage area, and have they keys to the area.

Repeater: Jim, N8TMW, with help of Jim, WB8YST; Jeff, K8JAC, reports the repeater is repaired, two (2) power supplies installed,
controller programmed and working at 150 watts. Will check for phone line. (MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO HELP WITH REPAIRS)

PEAK to PEAK: No update. Still planning on the 2 meter Simplex operation sometime soon, more information in near future.

STANDING COMMITTEES:

B. The President may create and establish adhoccommittees from time to time as necessary. (See listings below)

C.All standing committees and adhoc committees shall keep written minutes of their meetings and shall file the same with the KARC Secretary.
All committees shall consist of at least three (3) members unless specified otherwise. A committee may have members other than Full Members,
but only Full Members shall be entitled to vote on any matter. Aquorum for Committee meetings shall be the attendance of at least two (2)
committee members. A member shall serve on no more than two (2) committees.
